I want to lay down in the grass

As I ran this afternoon in the hot sun of 72 degree Minnesota weather, I yearned to take a break and lay down in the soft green grass of a white house on the corner of 7th of Olmstead. How nice it would be to have a yard right now. My apartment "yard" is trimmed too short with sticks and weeds and empty beer cans. I do not yearn to lay in that grass.

So I ran to the beat of Katrina and the Waves, Carrie Underwood, and Foreigner until I reached the park. There I sat and watched the turtle and crane statues shoot water out of their mouths into the pool. I pulled out my pink earphones and listened to the water splash, the cars on the street, and the birds sing. If I had a penny with me, I would've tossed it in and made a wish.

  1. Nothing better than running through the grass in the summer, a truly wonderful experience :)

  2. It was a beautiful day-Sounds like you are enjoying your last few days before packing up and moving out of your college house:)
You have only more adventures to look foward to!

  3. That sounds wonderful. If I might offer a bit of advice, milk the days you have, because once you are gainfully employed, unless you are a teacher or federal employee, they are few and far between.

  4. I second what Josh said. I'm so excited about having this coming Monday off that I could jump up and down and squeal like a little girl. Growing is not as fun as I thought it would be when I was a kid. Also, a piece of advice, make sure the people aren't home if you're gonna lay down in a stranger's yard. They tend to get all wonky and threaten to call the cops... Long story!

  5. Sounds like a peaceful relaxing afternoon. My neighborhood is too loud but I will figure how to drown it out in music and do what you did, enjoy the moment.

    Peace, Love and Chocolate
