Someone and the Chocolate Factory

I'm not a fan of the Willy Wonka movies. I never have been and I never will be. The old movie, from the 70's, was a little scary, and the Johnny Depp one freaked me out. I was more of a Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin viewer.

What are the Oompa Loompas anyway??? Little people with orange skin. That's what they are. I think they would be even more creepier if they were average sized. So thank you for making them small.

You're probably wondering why I'm blogging about Oompa Loompas. Well, for starters - I see that AT&T commercial with Gene Wilder singing "Pure Imagination" about ten times a day, and then I get that song stuck in my head for a good three hours.

Second, I almost hit a little orange skinned dude on my home today. They are EVERYWHERE!

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking Johnny Depp is creepy in Willy Wonka haha although his role in Alice in Wonderland made Willy Wonka look tamer.

  2. I love Disney movies and I also like the Willy Wonka movie. I do know what you mean about the song getting stuck in your head. I hate it when I hear that song I can't get it out of my head. I really can't believe you saw one of those orange skinned little people on the way home. Are you sure we are on the same planet? HA! HA! "TAKE CARE KINSEY" :)

  3. I was TERRIFIED of that movie when I was little. I mean a creepy guy taking kids around a candy factory where they die/disappear... Is that not what our parents warned us about from the time we were old enough to walk?!. But they encouraged us to watch it... It's like the Easter Bunny. "Don't take candy from strangers!" Unless that stranger happens to a be a really tall guy in a bunny costume....

  4. I find this extremely offensive. I played Grandpa Joe my senior year in high-school. I even did the song and dance. I've got a golden ticket, I've got a golden twinkle in my eye...

  5. Even though I adore the Willy Wonka movies and books, I find this post really funny. You're right, they are everywhere...which is bad thing if, like me, you find yourself inexpicably terrifed of Oompa Loompas :D
