Am I a Bad Driver??

I never thought I was a bad driver until this year.

I've never gotten in a car accident...knock on wood, so therefore I must be a sensible driver in some way or another.

On Saturday night I was driving to my sister's house and I accidentally left my brights on while a car approached me - oops.

Yesterday I switched lanes without using my blinker. I also cut off the person right behind me when I did it - sorry.

Last night Slams the Door and I went to DQ. On the way back to our apartment I almost hit a bike rider - I didn't see her. Luckily, Slams the Door did. The female bike rider gave me the stink eye. My bad.

Does this make me a bad driver? Sort of.

I don't drive like this all the time. I think it comes and goes. We all have those moments, and mine just happened to me all in one weekend.

And when I have my little nieces and nephews in the car with me, I am 3x a better driver. I promise.

P.S. I don't text and drive, so there are worse drivers out there than me. I'm not that kind of stupid.

  1. Don't worry, I know people who are the most atrocious drivers, your mistakes don't seem all that bad. And at least you can drive, I think if I ever tried to drive a car I'd cause one or two(more like a dozen) major road accidents! :)

That was a joke. Even professional drivers have their moments.

  5. I have my bad days driving as well. Having kids in the car makes me very careful, but without them I am more relaxed and that's when the ... happens.

  6. When I drove my cousins a few years ago, I hit my house with my car (accidentally of course). I will never live it down. haha

  9. I speed. I talk, text, and email while I drive. I run red lights. But I think that since I don't run stop signs I'm still an okay driver. Perhaps?

Trust me, everybody has their driving moments! It's not something to worry about... until you hit something. Then worry... worry hard!

  12. Good it wasn't worse and you got in an accident!

And I'm glad you don't use the phone and drive. I just read that if you talk on the phone while you drive, you are 4x as likely to get in an accident. That's the same as driving drunk!

  13. I always almost hit folks with my car. Actually I act like I am at my sons junior high because those kids are so brazen thy will walk in front of a moving car, so I get as clos as I can without touching thm to show them that they can be gone in a minute.

  14. I text at red lights. Is that bad? I put my phone down when the light turns green. And I almost ran over a jogger on campus one time. I've also cut someone off on the interstate. Sorry, person! We all have our moments...

  15. I think we've all done those things, and we can't ALL be bad drivers right? since you don't text and drive, then you should consider yourself one of the better drivers out there.
